Writer: BLACKWATERBLACKWATER

David K plays piano, guitar and bass, writes on both, performs solo with piano vocal, and with The David K Band. Original influences include The Beatles and other classic rock legends as well as soulful singers like Ray Charles, Joe Cocker and Van Morrison. Songwriting influences cut across from Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis country rockabilly styles to folk heroes Bob Dylan, James Taylor and add the edge of Elvis Costello. David has performed at all manner of club from the suit and tie piano bar lounge, to the cafe and college circuit. Early years of touring Midwest college coffeehouses and radio shows evolved into rock and roll clubs and festivals, and then annual trips to Nashville to co-write with friends, pitch and perform new original tunes and to record. David K has submitted songs to multiple rock stars and legends such as Randy Meisner of The Eagles, Edgar Winter, Toni Braxton, Rick Danko of The Band and members of James Brown’s band, as well as Jeff Cook of 80s legendary country band, Alabama. David has performed with Jeff Cook and then with Fergie Frederiksen of Toto, and has recorded with Joey Molland of Badfinger, original members of The Beatles Apple Records label, and with Phil Solem co-writer of “I’ll Be There For You,” the Friends TV show theme, member of The Rembrandts. Phil played bass on 5 tracks of David’s recent album, “Big News Cafe.” David has met and interviewed countless rock stars for his magazine and for a TV show he’s spent years developing and pitching to national networks. U Star TV has aired in Minneapolis, St. Paul, MN and in Nashville, TN.
